SOWAG Tours the County

Sheila DeLany reported that presentations on individual parts of the Women's Commissions Report on the Status of Women and Girls (SOWAG) have been presented in various communities in the past few months, and a final presentation, on the section on women's health issues will be presented in January in mid-county.

The Women's Commission is sending a letter to Supervisors Stone and Leopold regarding a CEDAW ordinance for the County. These two Supervisors have expressed support for the idea and are willing to put it before the Board as a whole.

On November 15, Sheila took part in a roundtable discussion on women and health care sponsored by the Women's Intercultural Network/California Women's Agenda, and the Cardea Center for Women.
