VWC Sponsors Museum Talk

On Sunday, May 15th, the San Lorenzo Valley Museum hosted a historical talk, "Middleton, Michelena, & the Movies – the Story of Poverty Flat," by local historian Randall Brown. The talk covered the 'who, what, where, why, and when' of many early movies that were filmed in Boulder Creek. Those attending learned who Beatriz Michelena was and how she went from a local movie star to head of her own studio, and where the movie lot, 'Poverty Flat' was located. Scenes from local movies filmed in Boulder Creek were shown. You are encouraged to visit the Museum (in Boulder Creek on Hwy 9 in the century-old Church building), and both attend their programs and become a member of the Historical Society!
