Community Foundation Grant Benefits Felton Library

Felton Library Friends has been awarded $5,000 by the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County to develop a strategic plan, mobilize its membership, and improve its methods of advocacy and communication toward realizing the goal of a replacement branch library long needed by Felton and surrounding communities.

This grant will enable the group to better coordinate its efforts to obtain bond, grant, and private funding to supplement funds provided by the Library Joint Powers Board for a new branch library. The grant was awarded to Felton Library Friends through its parent organization, The Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries.

The site of the proposed branch, offered by the Verutti Family, is adjacent to the Felton Post Office.  County Planning Department review, revised architectural plans, and revised cost estimates, for the building and its site, are expected to be completed this summer.
